Stock Roughhouse running lean?

Post by Milo_R50 »

Roughhouse owner here. Bought it with 4000 miles, nearing 6000 now.
Scooter is completely stock.

However I noticed my spark plug tip looks kind of white. Indicating a hot and/or lean condition during combustion correct? I've read the spark plug reading guide but since this a stock scooter, I wanted to confirm if it's normal.
It runs fine, although it seems to have more power off the line after startup (or during first 5 minutes of riding) than after a 15 minute commute. Normal?

Should be an 82 main jet in the carb for a derestricted r50
161cc big bore kit, NCY big valve head Hand ported, NCY transmission kit, jetted and tuned. I can port your cylinder head.

It was derestricted by the dealer when bought new. So if it needed a jet change, wouldn't they have done it?

Stock main jet is 75?

Dealers don't re jet to derestict. They only a washer in the exhaust header and another in the variator
According to the on line parts guide it has a 82
The Buddy uses a 75
If it runs good don't worry!
50 motorcycles and scooters from age 16 to 67. Loved every one but always had to sell one to buy the next, damn shame of economics. After spine surgery it's been all scooters. The light weight and CVT transmissions will let me ride as long as I breathe
