Which gear oil for 170i
I'll need to do my first gear oil change in a week or 2 & the manual calls for SAE 140 weight. I looked online for it & all I could find in 140 was Lucas Racing Oil & it's not GL-5 rated. Seems a little thick for a scooter but I'm no engineer. I read reviews of Amsoil 75-140 & Royal Purple 85-140. People put thousands of miles on 4X4 trucks using this & like it. It should protect like straight 140 when warm but flow better when cold. I'm assuming it should be fine but, assuming has often proven me wrong. Your opinions? Thx.

I just wanted to add that "synthetic" gear oil is not necessary for the Buddy. A good dino like Belray is just fine. The oil doesn't get to extreme temps and it doesn't get dirty like engine oil.
That said the buddy only takes about 100ccs for a change and lasts about a year under normal riding, so if you are like me(oil whore) use the very best.
