Adding a new scooter to my family. I had a Kymco People 200S, currently own the Kymco Xciting 500... now going down to a nice happy low 50cc 2T. Should be fun. I don't have it yet, but it's been ordered.
First steps are going to be derestricting. After that, I'll do an airbox, custom pipe, and upjet.
A couple quick questions on modding though.
1. I hate the look of the speedo and going to replace it with the KOSO XR-SA... but what about the mount differences from the RH to the Rattler?
2. Lowering suggestions... what is the stock eye-to-eye length of the rear shock?
3. The RH50 rides a little rough on the front, is there a better front shock set to look into?
Long term mods after the 2yr warranty: 150cc 2T and a 6" frame stretch. If I can... I'd like to push out the front rake about 5-10 degrees as well.

Sounds like you've got some big plans in the future of this little scooter!
As far as the mounting differences, just from the looks of it, the handlebars are going to be pretty different. I dont know that for a fact but just from the appearence of both, they look to be different.
Also, with the long term mods you've got planned, what kind/where are you planning to get a 150cc 2T from? Just curious

I've got a lead on a group from Taiwan who makes the mount. It seems the largest density of population to scooter ratio is located there. Not to mention some of the biggest modding community. Worst case scenario, I'll do a fab with one of my guys over at ezbake, he's got a full cnc setup and not afraid to use it. I'm still working that angle which is why it's slated for long term.
The forks components, I think I found a way to modify the frame enough to work with a set of Ruckus NCY forks. That would give me the lowering at the same time as better front forks. Just need to adjust the rake to get it right. The mod would open up a ton of options when you consider how many ruck mods are out there.

So here's a few shots of the RH50. I've got a few mods coming already. I need to build up the transmission first... so a performance clutch and upgraded variator first.
Eventually, this is going to be a hard build as I'm going to tune a 21mm carb to a 70cc BBK. Should be nice and roasty when it's done.
