Two-fer today: seafoam green Buddy 50 in the Fishburne parking deck at Emory University today. On the way there spotted a red 50; guy with his kid pulling onto N Decatur Rd, but instead of the kid riding on the back he was in front.

Brought my Buddy from Topeka to Tucson

Post by GrantSR »

armacham wrote:I've started seeing them all the time here in Tucson. ...
Moved to Tucson last August. I see Buddys all over the place. But then there is a shop near me called Scoot Over (http://www.goscootover.com/) that sells a lot of Buddys. Of all the scooters I see out on the road, about half of them are Buddys. (Oddly, most of the ones I see parked are not. Maybe Buddy owners like to ride theirs more.)

I bought my Buddy in Lawrence Kansas and rode it even in the winter (except when there was ice on the roads). I am really loving not even needing to worry about it being too very cold here in Tucson. My Buddy is the only motorized vehicle I own. After my (now - ex-) fiancee and I moved here, I convinced her to get a Buddy to replace the motorcycle she sold because she never rode it. She rides her Buddy all the time. I also met a friend who only owns a Buddy and a bicycle.

that Pamplona is always at TJ's. The owner works there. I saw a Blue stella on pacific Highway last tues wed. and another buddy (unsure of color) on Monday in the rain last monday. I was in the cage. It kind of spooked me because given it was dark and rainy it was practically invisible.

Pink Buddy last night on our group ride. In fact, the pink Buddy that used to belong to me and my wife! The rider joined us halfway into the ride. Very nice and a little weird to see someone else riding it.

Meanwhile, very nice Buddy turnouts overall at our rides recently!

riding up the coast north bound we saw a tangerine orange buddy heading south in Carlsbad. I saw it too late to wave which made me sad since the rider waved. Then as we headed south we passed him again in Leucadia and I got to wave (in case the rider is on here, we were the yellow vespa and red kymco). It was a great day (70 and sunny) for a Christmas ride up up the coast, but did not see to many scoots

I'm sure it would have tobe somewhere south.

saw a pink buddy giving us all a bad name today:

Cannon Road under the I-5 heading towards the outlet mall approx 1pm in Carlsbad, CA

She was riding sans any gear, wearing a 1/2 helmet and riding illegally in the bike lane. It's hard enough to convince non-riders these aren't toys without people doing silly stuff like illegally using the bike lane :(

Caught a glimpse of a seafoam green Buddy (like mine!) heading east on Cambridge at Fannin in the Texas Medical Center just after 8:00 this morning. Driver had a white 3/4 (I think) helmet. It was a quick glimpse as s/he zipped through the intersection.

Also saw an orange Buddy parked by the bike rack near the south entrance to Baylor College of Medicine. This was yesterday, but I've seen it there before. There are half-dozen or so (various models) around the Baylor bike racks on any given day...scooter friendly institution!

Few minutes later, orange Buddy heading East on Oxnard at Laurel Canyon. Black leather jacket with strips on the back.

and then finally (maybe 7-10 minutes later) - red buddy headed West on Riverside near Colfax (I think). I think i have seen this buddy two up before.

I always see a green Buddy parked on the UCLA campus, that sports a "BEND, OREGON" bumper sticker on the back.

I see a ton of scooters daily so I don't want to use this thread often, but the bumper sticker helps make this one stand out. See it pretty frequently parked near mine.

A light blue Buddy in Hillcrest this morning, could it be the same one? On the corner of Washington and Goldfinch where the Liberty Tax employees wearing Statue of Liberty costumes stand on the sidewalk and wave to the cars, the rider on the Buddy was waving back and honking like crazy. Hilarious, it made my day! :D

Finally saw a fellow Blur in my area! Gunmetal 220 on Victory Blvd. near Costco (Burbank) today @ 4:30p. Rider was wearing a 3/4 helmet with visor and basketball shorts. I was in my car at the time. I would have ridden mine but I needed to take the car today. :(

Two for one today!

-White Roughhouse (I think... don't know any White rattlers) on Central and McDowell in Downtown Phoenix going Eastbound. Half-Helmet and totally oblivious to me in the adjoining intersection.

-Creme Buddy 50 (could tell by the engine buzz) going Southbound on Rural Road and Apache on ASU Campus.

Red Buddy in Belmont, CA

Post by C2 »

This one is a bit late... my life is... shall we say "complex" these days...

About a week ago... you were a Red 125 (150?) with matching topcase parked at the Wendy's on Ralston @ Old County Rd. Drove by with my GF... made me sad that my Buddy is still on the fritz.

Sigh...

Tuesday mid-day; orange Buddy 50 going down Clarimont towards 85. Older guy too and he looked pretty determined not to let the traffic bug him. Clairmont/Lavista can be hairy at certain times of the day.

Jmazza, that was me! I was performing and my wife had to be up really early so I drove Yoda. It was really cold at 2am when I rode home, but no one was out so it was also very fun.

This morning I saw a Black buddy 125 at either the Westminster or Broomfield parknride. Had a windshield and aftermarket tires on it, so it looks well used but also well maintained.

I used to live just south of Jeffco Airport in the pre-Inverness days. Was back in the area last year  What happened? All the empty land on the west of 36 is built up and StorageTek is gone?
