Ok... its not like no one has seen a completely stock red Stella on MB... but here is mine anyway
Loaded up at Riverside Rides (thanks Yvonne!!!) http://www.riversiderides.com/
Highly recommended if you are within a few hundred miles of them I know... the outside of the building does not look like much... but the inside is done up & its the people, not the building, that make the difference.
Stopped at my place in Wisconsin for the night so I ran over to the lake
Back at the "cabin"
Ready for the 244 mile drive home
Sunset ride after making it back home

Yep... I was NOT ready for the torque, gave it a little gas, let the clutch out and holy crap!
By mandatory did you mean "its a rule every new ower should do one because Stellas rock"
or
"mandatory because no one thinks they will jump like that the first time they ride one"
I had to Google it to see if Stella's were Genuine aka PGO here in Australia or made by Vespa as there's a Black Vespa I see around town quite often that looks very similar. You can see it parked on the left of Henry in my Worldwide Scooter Tag photo of the Post Office Clock Tower posted earlier today 28/6/2010 or on my blog at http://ynot60.com/2010/04/26/scooter-spotting/

In your neck of the woods a Stella is known as a Belladonna
Tony since you live down under... you might not get that... here in the states, Fosters ran an ad campaign with the tag line "Fosters - It's Australian for beer, mate!"

But to answer the question you really didn't ask... most Genuines are PGOs here in the states... but not the Stella which is a LML from inda
It is pretty much, a Vespa PX150

It's a good idea, but who knows, stella could mean 'old, slow, ugly woman' in Mongolia or something. Like using the (onetime?) UK term for cigarettes in the US; fags just doesn't translate well here!
Fag doesn't translate well here in Oz either
Here it is in a sentence to give it more meaning. ie "I've just been for a ride on my wife's pink scooter & now I feel like a fag.

yeah... had a women I know (from Belgium) ask me If I wanted to go out and share a fag..... talk about taking a double take

Thanks for the tip... I will put it on my "wish list"
dont plan on doing a lot before next summer... but I do need to get a rack since I already have a top case (not that i will leave it on all the time, just when I need to haul paperwork for work)

I would break it in first.
People break in in different ways but I like the old fashioned vary speed, don't hammer it method. All it takes is a few nice easy rides and it gives you a chance to get used to it before pushing it hard!
Got my rack from scooterworks (FREE shipping this month!)
I know... vintage style scoot with moder top case but it allows me to use the scoot for work & it comes off in 2 seconds when I dont need it
I do think it looks better than the case did on my Rattler - it looked pretty BIG on the back of that scooter
yeah... all the Stellas (& Vespa PX) have them.
I am not a scooter history buff... but I assume it helps balance the motor which is hanging off the opposite side.

Just got to looking at the photos and came across your new Stella – Very nice!
I was wondering why earlier this year you were asking about how to trailer a scooter.
