Rattler and RoughHouse promo items (t-shirts, hats, etc.)
With the growing number of owners in the past 1.5 years, I've noticed that (through Scooterworks as well) there really isn't anything available for the Rattler/RoughHouse itself when it comes to t-shirts, sweatshirts, coffee mugs, keychains etc. except for items branded with Buddy or just the Genuine Scooter Co. logo.
With that, I think there are some great brand-loyalty opportunities for these lines of scooters from Genuine.
With winter just around the corner, and time to kill while NOT on my Rattler, I have some, and will be coming up with more logo ideas for the Rattler and RoughHouse. They can be ordered through cafepress.com, or if Eric has ideas to use them through his site (ex: buttons) that would be great, too.
Before showing what I've done so far, at least let me know if you like the overall idea. I will keep you posted - and I can also be PM'd about anything you'd like to add. Thanks!

Be careful of staying on the right side of intellectual property issues. Companies may really like to have enthusasitic product owners, but they also have to defend the use of their brand images. Have you tried emailing Genuine about branding issues? They may have plans of their own or would maybe be open to some use of their brand. It's worth asking to cover your ass and maybe open up an even better opportunity.

Great insight - and yes I have. I sent an email 3 days ago to Genuine, but no response yet. That's why I haven't showed anything on this site. I asked them if they'd like me to show them what I've done so far - even pro-bono, and then take it from there. I may call and try to talk to someone in their marketing dept. next.

If you hear back there is no way they would say yes to your request. It comes down to you are going to make a profit from there product. Even if the guy that owns the whole damn thing said he didn't care the company lawyer would say no way. Some times it's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.

I hear ya. and I use that last one on my wife all the time! There's bunch of Buddy stuff up on cafepress.com - I didn't check, but I wonder who did all that. My inspiration came from the fact that there is not one single chochkey for the Rattler on scooterworks website. Maybe they have something in the works, and I'd be willing to help them out - promoting my work would be payment enough (and there - it's even in writing). They would be the ones that would have to pay vendors to apply the graphics to different materials, i.e. t-shirts, hats, coffee mugs, etc.

Genuine is a very small company. They do have marketing, but not exactly a "marketing department."MacJac wrote:Great insight - and yes I have. BUT, they do some Buddy shirts and so on but I don't think they're exactly huge sellers. I'm not sure there are enough Rattler and Roughhouse owners out there to make it worth mass producing items.
If you do go the Cafepress route, I'd advise against using any company logos or trademarks or any Genuine photos or art as some others have done.

I don;t know about now, but when I was using Cafepress a couple years ago, the quality was just horrible. I hear it's improved.MacJac wrote:I wanted to check out zazzle also. I hear they're just as good as cafepress.
I want to get stuff up on my cafepress page by this weekend.
Here's a thread on CP vs. Zazzle:

Great Stuff
Hey MacJac,
I just checked out your stuff on CafePress. It is GREAT!
Too bad we do not have A Rattler owner in the family yet. I may get one if the financial winds blow in the right direction. I think it would be a blast on my Family property. There is lots of woods to ride through and my Buddy would NOT like it. I'll keep your goodies in mind!

Scooter dork and proud of it!
