Miles per Post
Who's yappin' instead of riding?
Well… I am but I have excuses.
MPP (miles per post) = TOTAL SCOOTER MILES RIDDEN SINCE JOINING MB / TOTAL # OF MB POSTS
I'm estimating mileage and rounding to hundredths here, but I have 2.15MPP on Modern Buddy and 4.85MPP on Modern Vespa.
Even if I combined all posts from both sites and accounted for joining MV before I had a scooter and joining MB a year after MV, I'd still be just under 2MPP.
I'm pretty sure there are people out there who don't live in the Sahara or Antarctica who have under 3MPP. Some will have under 1 and should probably measure in PPM.
I sure as hell don't want to discourage posting, but if your MPP is under 3, you probably need to spend less time posting, more time scootering!

just passed 11,150 miles with 1085 posts... 10.28 MPP. I know, I need to shut up a little bit more. Got mine in July '09, so we'll say 21 months, average 30 days per month, we'll guess 630 days riding. Gives me 17.7 miles per day average. I'm content with that since it's urban here and I walk to work most days, working about 10 days per month.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on snagging one of the last BlackJacks in the country! Since you're local, consider joining up with out LA Scooter Group. Lots of great rides and events coming all summer long!cacarbuff wrote:Hey Everybody!
I thought this would be a good place to make my first post.... Got my Blackjack on Feb 12th and love it!
I guess that would make my MPP = 1810/1 = 1810
Aaaannnd I've got another 60 mi planned today!
Thanks for being such a great resource MB!

well I have 3996 miles on the two scoots and 2270 posts so that makes 1.76 mmp. So sad but hey, I'm kind of obssessive compulsive and I live in michigan. I also have four bicycles that need love too
I was actually thinking about how few miles I have on the two scoots and I think much of it has to do with the fact that I live 4.9 miles from work and I generally don't go more than 10 miles for anything else. It's kind of nice to live in a city where everything you need is very close to where you live. Makes a scooter the perfect vehicle so long as it's not snowing

I have no idea how many miles I've ridden since I joined this forum... especially since I don't remember how many miles were on my p200 when I bought it and my Buddy speedo cable was disconnected for a while. Not to mention other people's scoots I've ridden...
I've got around 13500 on just the Buddy odo right now, so divide that by 3313 posts is like 4MPP.
Pretty weak if you ask me, but hey, I'm online working a lot and I often "multi task".

Rounding ever so slightly to 6,000 miles, I'm at 11.9 mpp.
Buddy-only miles it's closer to 9mpp.

Fortunately I joined the forum before I owned the scoot, so it's easy to figure out the mileage.
9600 miles / 2200 posts = 4.4 miles/post. Please "handicap" this for living in a climate with four-month winters.
Believe me: I'd rather be riding than posting, but I can't ride between support phone calls at work.

mpp
2447 miles / 45 posts = 53.4 mpp
Kind of sad considering I that until this morning I had 4 scooters (just sold the 50's).

It means you yap on the interwebs approximately 3.204545454545455 times less than I dopolianarchy wrote:Posts: 2270
Buddy miles: <12200

So 12,800 miles / 2,270 posts = 5.64 mpp
I don't know what this means.

Oh, I know there are many reasons for people's various numbers. Mine are shameful! I just think it's an interesting and curious metric for folks' activity. Nothing scientific and it doesn't really mean much. Though some folks need to get out and ride more.
That means me, too.
That means me, too.

Me too although that's not one of them since it can be expressed as 564/176. The calculator rounds which is where the two 5's at the end come from Wonder how much more I'd have to ride in order to bring my mpp up to phi rounded to say two decimals places?Syd wrote:I heart irrational numbers!jasondavis48108 wrote:It means you yap on the interwebs approximately 3.204545454545455 times less than I dopolianarchy wrote:Posts: 2270

Your my hero for today I set up a computer to give me the first million digits of phi, why I wasted that much dot matrix paper is beyond me but for some reason I found it awesome at the time.jrsjr wrote:Hmm, about 1.618033988749894848204586834365638117720309179805762862135448622705260462818902449707207204189391137484754088075386891752126633(...)5540449845898135971180597441166945802637136600139892864849660450173914194247896581760326841476831852377570424692857145621320454 more miles?!?jasondavis48108 wrote:Me too although that's not one of them since it can be expressed as 564/176. But I didn't have a car for 2.5 years.
But I live 3 miles from work.
But we do get snow here.
But not much snow.
But I don't really mod out my scooter and discuss all that.
But I do a lot of my own maintenance and learn on here.
But I was out of the country for 3 months - in summer.
But I've been on here for 4.7 years

I don't know whether to defend not scooting more or not posting more...
