how do you keep mirrors tight when mounted on windshield bra

Post by hpage3 »

I have a 170i with the accessory windshield which is screwed into the mirror holes on the handlebars. The mirrors are then screwed into an adapter on top of the bracket. Mine keep loosening and I can't figure out how to keep them tight as the locking nut screws down on top of the windshield bracket My wife's buddy 50 has the same problem.

Use a good dose of blue loctite.

Tighten the bolts and nuts on the windshield about 1/8th turn before each ride. Keep an adjustable wrench in the pouch under the handlebars so you can tighten things at traffic light stops. Do this along with using loctite/thread lock and everything will seat and stay tight.
I remove my winshield every summer and have to go through the above steps when I put it back on in the fall.
