Just had to say thanks for allowing me to relive a childhood memory. I lived right around the corner from Bracket as a kid and played on that very rocket. In fact, I remember it being built! It made the front page of The Star.

Were you one of the kids that used to get your head stuck between the bars?
That rocket has a lot of history behind it. Glad to see it back.

No,I can honestly say that I wasn't one of them. I've been away from MPLS for 40 yrs at least,did they remove it for a while or what?
I remember being one of the first kids to play on it, I couldn't have been any older than 6 at the time....let's see, that would have been around 1964 (scary thought!). We moved out to Bloomington,where I lived until 1979, when I got married at 21.

I saw one of these--still in use--at a playground in Watertown, SD last weekend! Wish I would have had time to grab a pic.

Cool! I remember when I was kid and the only thing that was under it was black top. No wood chips or sand like the playgrounds today.
