I saw this Herbie-style scoot on your facebook and I was wondering...
...was this done with Vinyl or paint?
I accidentally ripped one of the stock stripes on my 170i while I was debadging it in my cold garage (oopsies!), and I'm trying to decide whether I want to use paint, or buy new Vinyl to put new/different stripes on it. Obviously Vinyl would be removable, which is why I'm leaning towards that.. really I'm just trying to figure out what others have tried and learn from their experiences.
Harris decals has great prices, and an awesome variety, for vinyl by the foot, but before I dump $50 into it, I want to make sure it's a smart choice.
Also, I have experience with painting, pin-striping and and vinyl application. I have done several helmets and a few local stock cars and demolition derby cars (yes, people will pay a decent amount of money for someone to make the beat old car they are about to smash up look awesome), for which I have won a few trophies and cash prizes. So I'm not worried about the difficulty of it, I just want to know what would work best.
Also, I'm probably going to paint the dead light panels, all the way down the sides and around the back of the scoot, which will involve a lot of taping and such... might as well get it all done in one week during the winter rather than have the scoot down for the count during my short riding season.

Wanted to say thanks again TomB, I just got 5 12"x10' rolls of Vinyl from that seller, saved a bunch of money and got a crapload more vinyl than I would have gotten if I had bought from Harris!
Very happy with the choices in colors, just waiting for it all to arrive now so my Buddy won't look so naked!
