Tucson's Sky Island Riders' Missile ride 6/5/2010

Saturday, 6/5, we rode to the Titan Missile Museum. Home of the only intact Titan II missile silo complex left in the US. It is quite a reminder of life during the Cold War, for those of us who remember it. It was a great tour. We followed the tour with a ride to Madera Canyon for a picnic lunch at 5000 feet. It was 105 degrees for the ride home to Tucson.

Our destination.

The formerly hi-tech launch control room.

One thing I didn't realize was that AT NO TIME were you allowed to be alone anyplace except the crews quarters. Otherwise you had to be in visual contact with another crew member.

Argyll showing a bit of leg.

In the parking lot.

In Madera Canyon. We missed the Green Valley club, but had fun anyway.

Enjoying our little feast before heading back to Tucson.
