A huge thanks to Krusty for helping me dream up the thing, to Latch for advice on painting, and to the guys at the Scooterlounge (especially Dave) for helping me with the stuff that I couldn't do on my own. I'm absolutely loving it!

I would love to do some red piping on the seat, but I have no idea what I could use that wouldn't fade in the sun and all that.

Looks slick, nice job. What type of flat black paint did you use?

I just used the Rustoleum rattlecan black that's made for plastics (about 4-5 coats), then used the Rustoleum rattlecan matte finish (2 coats).

laxer,
You may want to check out liquid electrical tape for your seat piping. It comes in 3 versions, black, red and clear.I recommend using performix name brand, not a knock-off brand. You may or may not need to use another brush for applying it.The good thing too is you can use the remainder of the liquid tape for protecting all your electrical connections.Google it for more info.
# Performix Liquid Tape
# Electrical
# Brush on Insulation
# Trouble Free (won't unravel like tape)
# Seals out moisture, salt etc.
# Applicator brush in cap makes it easy to apply
# Flexible Rubber formula (won't crack peel, or harden like vinyl).
# Available in Black,Red And Clear.
