first group ride. 164 miles..went ok except incident with a curb..center stand scrapped :( , some sanding and paint should fix, lesson learned..if leader makes sudden decision, turn, don't follow unless in position to execute without consequences!

Cool!

I've only done one group ride and I decidedly did not like it. I'm not much of a group anything person though! I enjoy riding solo much more.

Regarding the "only follow the leader if..." thing, that's most often simply stated "ride your own ride." You are totally right- no one should ever ride above their own abilities under any circumstances. That can be tough in a group ride where doing your own thing can prove dangerous to the others. Glad you didn't have much of a mishap at all. If it's only the center stand that's scraped, be prepared that that thing is likely going to get scraped more and more with general scooter riding (sometimes while riding, sometimes getting the scooter up on to a sidewalk etc) so it might not even be worth painting!

Hey, I was on that ride! I was the guy on the Blackjack. Were you with the guy on the silver/grey Vespa?

Yeah, that was my husband. We admired the Blackjack when Chelsea got them.

Who did the airbrush work on the Vespa? Was that in Richmond?

Thanks.

Canyon Airbrush, I believe is the name. The guy's name is Canyon, in Glen Allen. He has a website. 2nd job he has done for Andy, always good work.

That's funny. I actually stopped in to talk with them on Monday. They are doing one of my helmets this week. Thanks for the reply.

You were a pretty new rider then Joe. You should come along on one of our rides and give it another shot now that you have a lot more miles under your belt!

Psssst...I still got your stuff!
