Well, my local scooter shop had some problems and wasn't able to really get anything done on my scoot all week, a little disappointing, but these things happen and they were really apologetic and good about it (hopefully next week it'll get finished )
So...I just can't wait for it to get finished, I picked up my scoot from the shop today and snapped some lower-quality shots with my phone. Not great, and I haven't cleaned the scooter up, but I'm just too excited not to share it with the rest of ya'll.
Without any further ado, my half finished RatJack scooter:

Thanks! I actually did them before I asked about whitewalls for the rattler, it was such a pain that I didn't want to have to do it again, I'd rather just buy the tires next time, ha!
I'm still waiting to have the rims done red, some red stitching on the seat, put some decals on, and to get a unifilter pod on there once my local shop gets the right jets in, I can't wait! Then I'll polish the whole thing up nice and take some half-decent pictures for you all to drool over
PS--I'm kinda thinking about going for chrome mirrors, but just not sure. Please opine.

Just cleaned them real good and let them dry. Then, as long as you've got the paint that bonds to plastic (both Rustoleum and Krylon have them, go with Rustoleum though) and just make sure you keep the can moving and give it a nice even coat, wait for it to dry, and repeat four or five times (A big thanks to Latch who gave me these tips when I asked him). After that I put on two coats of matte finish and viola!
Flat black is growing on me in a bad way. [/Wonders off to go look judgmentally at the Blur]
Flat Black is growing on me too....my Black Jack purchase this past March broke a relatively long consecutive string of only having RED scooters for me....this was reinforced by a flat-black Vespa GTS 250 in the gallery section on modern Vespa too...under "vietnam style". This FB Rattler, that FB GTS, the Black Jack, I'm in!
wow, that looks really good. Actually I think I like the ratjack better than the blackjack. The blackjacks flat balck panels arn't quite flat enough for me and it kind of gives it that plasticy look. Very well done.
