Better late than never, I guess.....

Here's the road to the ferry across the Mississippi--flooded out:

Image

Here's the bridge I crossed instead--after riding through spinach farms along blacktop two lane roads through that pea-soup fog!

Image

Here's the E.C. Segar Memorial park and statue of Popeye.

This is the turtle I saved from certain death on the highway! No idea who the big ugly guy is....

Roam free, turtle-friend!

This is my friend Mike and his lovely daughter.

And this is my loyal bulldog, welcoming me home!

This is my pug, Kachoo, not even realizing I was gone.

From the looks of it, I'd say Kachoo was just preventing your throne from being usurped in your absence! SO loyal!

Kachoo's jog is to trip unwary intruders causing them to fall headfirst into the bathtub thereby rendering them unconscious giving you the time to call the police.

LoL! Occasionally, my sister pops into my home while I'm away and she always comments on how she could clean the place out and the dogs wouldn't budge unless she took the bed or carpet they are sleeping on!

Thanks for the move, Jmazza! :D

That is only about half of that bridge, believe it or not!

When I was riding through that fog during the morning, I was desperately looking for a place to pull off the road to snap a pic. It was pretty wild--blacktop two lane farm roads surrounded by (I think) spinach as far as you could see (into the fog--which wasn't far) and no streetlights anywhere. I still remember looking off to my right and seeing this HUGE barn suddenly just "appear" in the fog as I rode! Unfortunately, there were only small gravel driveways/paths/roads that I could have pulled off at and I never saw them in time to slow down enough to do so. :(
