my 1st scooter photo (p-series/stella)

Post by Lovelandstella »

It is impossible to see if there was a similar thread already on this, so I'll just start up a new short one real quick.

My parents showed me this photo recently and I though it was hilarious.
30 years of p-series! (being around) :)

the baby is me, and so considering that I don't look even a year old yet - I'd have to age guess the photo at early 1980. an if you're curious its in Arizona- somewhere south I would guess.

however, those are not my parents and I couldn't find out who they are! old friends I guess.

funny- as you can see I allways preferred the round mirrors over the trapizoidal, :) .

anyway to the star of the photo (per the framing) the scooter!
I'm not the worlds greatest- but that's a p-series for sure. (the same as the stella, for appearances sake) - does anyone agree, disagree? this is the place for me to find out for sure.
but the year? any hard core scooter detail oriented people with a keen eye and a desire for a challenge? guess away!

what is the same compared to the stella- what is different? :?: kinda like a "hidden pictures" for grown ups :)

and even more intersting is that it's just about the same shade of blue as the new 4 stroke color available. - points out the nice vintage accuracy for Genuine.

kinda neat seeing the past and the future meet together. (new scooter at the time - and the style and color combo is being released in a matter of weeks -30 years later, but also me as a baby sitting on one, and me about to sit on one again - buying a 4 stroke stella)

anyway I thought I'd share this.

what do you guys think? does anybody have an older pic? or documentation of any younger scooter experience? I'm suddenly curious to see people's personal vintage scooter photos (if there are any)

there's kind of a fun nostalgia and pride from photos like this!

again apologies if you've already posted in a similar thread. [there are soooo many photo threads!]

It's a P series for sure but I don't know what year from the color. I do know that blue was available in 1980 though. (along with a dark red)

Here's an article I found from Popular Science July 1980 that shows the blue.

My P is a '79 and it's the same blue (lovingly referred to by me as "ConEd blue"). You're in the right ballpark.
