So, I hit 200 miles and changed my gear oil yesterday. I put 90cc plus a little bit to make up for the extra that remains in the funnel b/c I didn't want to sit there holding the funnel all day waiting for it all to drain down. Is the 90cc amount what everyone else put in theirs? Thanks

i simply measured what ever came out and put the same amount back in....wasn't 90cc though. i'm gonna switch out the gear oil here soon again, i've got almost 500 miles on it now. then i'll go per the book.

What weight oil does it use? Synthetic or not?

i think mine is regular, just some 85w-140 penzoil gear oil. around 4-5 bucks a bottle. i was worried when i changed it because the oil that came out was super thick and the stuff i put in wasn't.

I thought the same scenario, it has to be a break in oil. Thus the reason they stress the importance of the 200 mile gear oil change. Two stroke are easy though no oil filter to deal with just drain and refill. Always a good idea to get her warm prior to dumping the old oil a much quicker drain process.

yeah, i warmed mine up and drove the 4 miles round trip to get the oil and then let it sit for about 30 minutes. i used an old gladware container and a then used a food injector syringe thingy to fill it back up. it worked great.
