2013 Rough House Brakes Hissing/Rubbing

First Post. Just got my first scooter and it's a 2013 Rough House! This scooter is really slick. I have just over 50 miles on it and I'm starting to hear an on and off hissing/rubbing sound. I can't locate it exactly - it's either the front or the rear brake. I hear it sometimes on straight aways, but I definitely hear it when I lean left or right. I pumped the breaks several times thinking there might be dirt between the pad and disc. I also hear it when I pull the right handle brake.

My local dealer isn't opened till Tuesday so I wanted to throw this out in the forum to see if anyone has had a similar problem or if this is normal. Should I be concerned? Are the wheels not aligned? Thoughts?

All disc brakes (your car too) rub slightly when the lever is released.
And, yes, the pitch will change with turns due to the few thousenths of wheel bearing play and the fact the brake disc is attached to the wheel.
As the pad and rotor conform to one another, the sound should lessen.
You indicate the right lever changes the sound and that means the front brake is the one you hear.
Since that brake has no covers, thats the one you will hear.

Currently the sound you describe would be considered normal.

Thank you for your reply.

I should clarify. The hissing isn't constant as the wheel rotates, but it is a quick scrape every rotation. Almost as if the wheel isn't aligned and disc gets scraped.

Is this still normal?

Not entirely normal. What I would do is check with the dealership to see if they want to check the balance on the wheel. If the balance it good, I don't see any problems.

^ I agree. There's no reason you shouldnt take it back to the dealer and get their expert opinion...
