Is anyone else having mechanical problems with their Rattler? I have had mine a month and have had it in the shop three times for starting issues, then today I have to have it towed again because the center stand came loose..it could have been very hazardous. This is a brand new bike..I keep asking what's next?

Having recently purchased one that has 1000 miles, was babied by it's owner and still blew up twice I understand your displeasure.
Upon completion of this last build I went over every bolt I could get my hand on. I found that the gas cap/flange was leaking, and the airbox' filter doesn't have a gasket on one side (not vacuum tight)
You get what you pay for but I've been happy with the outcome of my purchase. Maybe you two just need a few more dates.

just did a big bore on mine-stock piston rings etc all looked ok after 8000 miles and lots of abuse-well see how the aftermarket/big bore stuff lasts

After reading a number of other posts with similar issues to yours, and having lost a few things to the road, I have gone over my scoot and removed as many external bolts, nuts, screws and Loctite'd them back in place. Blue Loctite saves the day.

Mine's been good for 3 years and over 10,000 miles.

Most new Ratt owners get hit with the dreaded air/fuel adjustment right after getting their bike. Even worse when it goes from warm to cold out. 1/4 turn off the mark and it loads up and stalls (once the auto-choke is off). Knowing how to vent your gascap and adjust your carb a little comes in real handy. Other than that mine has been spot on.
Thanks !

Mine has been great for 15k miles of incredible abuse - sure I've had problems but I'm amazed at how few they have been.
If you are having problems with a brand new scoot I'd be more likely to say it's a problem with dealer prep than anything else. Maybe they didn't go over it very well? Also the 500 mile tuning/checkup is pretty important.

Pete Thanks so much for the response! I have been talking to Dean at Genuine about my whole situation, and they have been great at helping me through all this. I truly believe that Genuine stands behind their products.
This could very well be a dealer issue. i'm not giving up yet.
Congratulations on all your travels.
