Back on the team...

Well, I'm once again and official member of "Team Genuine". I went out and bought an '09 Rattler Buck-Ten today. And yes...I've already made some 'personalization mods' to it.

So, here's some pics of my now 4-day old toy. I have just over 140 miles and have made a bunch of changes. I removed the huge tail, the metal rear turn-indicator mount and mounted some small, custom indicators. I removed the in-the-way- rear handle thingy. I removed the Rattler 110 stickers on the side and replaced them with my own "TEAM 918" stickers.

Heading towards the front, I moved the speedo to a behind-the-handlebars position instead of the stock in-front-of...I rode it at night and the glare from the speedo was too annoying, moving it back helped that issue. I lopped 2 1/2 inches off each side of the handlebars and removed the silly crossbar. Then I removed the front turn indicators and took the mounting plates off. Then I mounted them to the side of the nose-piece. It looks better to me, but I'd like to find smaller lights somewhere.

...of course I'm not done, but it IS a start...

How did you attach the front turn signals?

I unbolted the front ones from their perches and, drilled a hole in the side of the black part of the plastic, removed the nose and just bolted it in. I'm thinking, though, of moving them down to around the foot-peg area.

Looks better already. Get some MX grips to cover up those holes left from removing the bar ends.

It looks good. The antenna style mirrors have to go, though. Perhaps some bar-end mirrors would be better.

These are going on mine once I shorten the bars:

You MAY have to use different bars. When I cut mine, I discovered that the metal used is VERY thick, making it impossible to use standard bar-end weights, etc. I'm planning to install different bars so that when I cut them down I CAN use bar-end mirrors (my plan all along...).

I found that out the hard way. I like the bend & rise of the stock bars, & some Dremel work should solve that problem.

I wonder if drilling a hole in the exhaust straight in from the rear outlet through the baffle might help with power, presuming the bike is jetted properly for it.

Probably do more harm than good. 2-strokes require more back pressure to function properly than 4-strokes.
