Loose wire found

Post by spr0k3t »

So doing some plastics pulling I found a loose wire with bare threads showing looking like it was attached to some connector. Located on the underside running from the main wire harness. The wire is green with a black stripe. Any suggestions? I'll see if I can post up some pictures when I have more light.

So I found the loose wire, where it goes to and what it does. This wire is an alternate ground from the battery lead to the engine or frame. Did some tidying up while I was in there as well.

Notice where the green/black stripe wire sits... yup... right next to the spark plug wire. That's what had me worried a bit.

The schematic for the RH50 doesn't show a Black/Green wire being used at all.

(see page 12)

Kinda looks like someone added something.

Keep in mind, that is on a 2013. not much has changed but the main harness has.

It's outside the main harness which is what leads me to think it was added. Where does the other end connect?

The other end was connected on the ground wire where the battery lead is. The ground connector is kind of hidden behind that giant red positive lead/fuseable link. The green/black wire was originally wrapped going into the battery compartment. Perhaps it is something new they are doing. I haven't received confirmation from Genuine just yet.
