The Blur Twins

As most know, back when I bought my Blur scooter in January, I actually bought two of them because the guy selling them really wanted to sell both. I was kind of waiting till spring to sell the 2nd one, but my brother Ryan had ridden one of my Blurs when we both were visiting my our parents about a month back. He immediately fell in love with it and said he was going to put his truck up for sale to get out of the payment and get the scooter. Ryan and his wife came over on Valentine's day and Ryan and I took the Blurs out for a nice scoot around town. We had a blast together and I took him on lots of cool roads where we played chase following each other. He got serious about selling his truck and finally got it sold this past weekend. He called me and said he wanted the extra Blur and came over and picked it up.

Ryan had owned a People 50 a few years back so he wasn't new to Scooters. However, he did have to go get his MC permit since at 150cc's you technically need a MC license to ride one.

Since I knew I was going to be down to 1 Blur, I wanted to get some pictures of both of them. I snapped some pictures this weekend of both Blurs and added Sarah's Buddy in there for a few shots.

Both are 2006 Blurs and both have right about 1550 miles on them. The one Ryan got is the one without the windshield and with the Genuine Scooter case. I have Givi 36L case on the other Blur.

I didn't notice till I just looked at this picture that my Blur is missing the decal below the left head light that says Blur. Weird.

I took that fender extension off both scoots.

This was pretty funny. They were within 3 miles of each other

Time to add the pink Buddy in there

I'm not even sure. The first time I noticed it was when I was looking at these pictures. The only thing I can guess is the previous owner took it off for some reason?

Maybe to tell them apart easier?

Is it wrong that when I see the 2 Blurs and the 1 pink Buddy, my first thought is "THREESOME!"

Scooter porn, indeed.

great pics.

did you have any issues finding a windshield for the blur? did you get it in town or mail order?

also, with the windshield, does it make the wind hit your head? i drove a vino that felt like the wind was beating the crap out of my head. did not like.

i have to track down a rear rack and windshield...

The windshield had been on order back when the previous owner owned it. He transfered the order to me. Once I took possession of the scooter, I contacted the store where it was on order and they said it was still back ordered. I searched the Scooter Store website which showed the windshield in stock (http://www.scooterworks.com/Windscreen_Blur_P5144.cfm) and they had me a windshield that next week.

I'm 6'4" with a pretty long torso and it does kind of put the air right at my face, but I wear a full face helmet, so its clean air and not bad. I do wish it was a bit taller, but it's alright.

I've thought about perhaps attaching a laminar lip to it to see how that worked, but I'm afraid it might put too much stress on the mounting bars.

Overall, I like the windshield.

If your windshield vibrates a lot, you can move it down on the mounting bars. When I put mine on, it vibrated in an almost scary way. When I moved it down a little (so less air got rammed up under it from the headset) it vibrated a *lot* less, but it put that much more wind on my face shield.

Nice pics Dan!

Yep the Blur has been great! I use it as my daily driver around Atlanta. I'm finding any excuse to go out and ride it. I hoping for warmer weather, but with the gear I'm wearing....I've been staying pretty warm. It looks like this week should be warming up a bit.

I thought about that, but when I was putting the windshield on, I accidentally broke the top of the bolt off of one of those clamps. :( I guess the windshield is stuck where its at for now.

:x that was the first thing I noticed when I added the WS to my Blur. It was last summer and in the warmer weather I wear an open face lid. The increased wind in my face almost made me take it off for the summer. I do like the look of it though and never did remove it - just keep my faceshield down and got used to the additional air flow. It is also supposed to increase your MPG but I didnt notice any significant difference.
