Ignition question

Is there any harm in leaving the key in the "on" position when pulling over for a break or a cell phone chat. If I recall, in older cars, leaving the ignition "on" without the engine running would cause the points to burn. Call me lazy, but I would like to just pull over and hit the kill switch. After doing my thing, hop back on, flip the kill switch, and off again. If that's a bad thing, I suppose I'll just have to reach all the way down to turn the key off...oh bother.

No, but your battery will be dead if left on for a while.
