I ride an '06 Blur and my wife has a Buddy St. Tropez. I've been getting at least twice as many comments and questions from motorists and people who see me gassing up or parking as she does, and so far they're all respectful, admiring, and genuinely curious. I'm amazed by how many people specifically ask how many cc the engine is.
I suspect that when the Blur came out the market for scooters was primarily defined by people who were attracted by the Vespa culture and image, and the Blur didn't fit that very well. Today, however, I think "non-scooter people" are looking at scooters as real transportation alternatives, and they LIKE that the Blur doesn't look like a traditional Euro-cutie.
I believe that Genuine would do themselves a favor by doing some market research around whether today's scooter buyers are attracted by the GMAX image.
Has the Blur's time come?

I agree entirely. I love my Vespas, but when I finally broke down and bought a modern scooter, i wanted one with modern engineering and design.
I think as people upgrade from Buddies/Vinos/Metropolitans, sadly they're going to focus more on displacement than engineering. It's harder to justify paying an extra $1000 for a scooter based on better suspension/brakes rather than an extra hundred ccs, but the word on the Blur is spreading and I bet it makes a comeback.

I agree, the Blur is awesome, most awesomest for a scooter. You should buy mine for your wife so you guys match. Ive got tons of great parts already installed, ready to just be turned on and ridden! Plus it would help accelerate my plans to just go for that bigger bike I was going to do next year anyways.

Buy your Blur
GFridrich3-
You know, she actually WOULD prefer a Blur to her St. Tropez, but she only has 80 miles on it and I'd be surprised if she could get more than $3k for it and it's like brand new. That's a long way from the $4200 you're asking for your Blur, and I don't think I could justify that kind of additional outlay...
But if you have any ideas, let me know. We're not far away (in Indianapolis).
