Issue removing lock body and barrel

Hey all, new member and owner of a 2005 Stella 2T.
My buddy that I acquired the scooter from lost the keys so I picked up new keys and barrels from Scooterworks. I have the steering column cover off and the harness for the ignition but I'm have been trying to depress the tang on the barrel in for about two flipping hours with no luck. I have used a micro screwdriver, 90 degree pick, and even a coat hanger to no avail.
Any ideas?
Also having issues posting pix. I reduced one down to < 400k and still won't upload.
