Hi, Everyone,

The San Francisco Scooter Girls have wanted to do this ride for years, and it's finally happening on Sunday August 11!

Before 9:30am - San Francisco riders meet at Ritual Coffee, Octavia & Hayes, off of Patricia's Green, for morning caffeine, etc.

9:30am - Group ride leaves from Ritual Coffee, scooting over the Bay Bridge and ending at...

10:00am - Peet's Coffee, 1776 4th Street, Berkeley.

After 10am - East Bay Ride leaves from Peet's in Berkeley--this portion of the ride will be relatively easy, and recommended for all riders, including new riders!

11am-ish - Group ride ends at SS Red Oak Victory Ship Museum (check out Rosie the Riveter's welding suit!) & $7 Pancake Breakfast, 1337 Canal Blvd, Berth 6A, Richmond, CA.

And, as with most things we organize, this event is open to all scooters, all riders (of any gender), as long as you don't ride like a nincompoop.

We hope to see you there!

Here's a link to a 10-minute KQED documentary with some nice footage showing what the San Francisco Bay area was like during WWII, and the mass production of ships. It turns out that, in this area anyway, "Rosie the Riveter" was more like "Wanda the Welder!"
