Buddy 125 vs lance 125

Post by Raz »

Wondering how the Buddy 125 com pairs to Lance 125 scooters. Reliability, pick up off the line, top end speed and ease of getting parts. Any help would be appreciated. I have owned a Buddy 125 for many years. Just need info on Lance 125

Nothing on youtube or google. My scooter dealer sells both. Maybe he can shed some light.

My 2cents. The Buddy 125 is a known quality scooter that's backed by great parts support and a strong network of dealers. Its the only scooter I've bought twice.

Lance are also quality scooters. I'm not sure how parts support is now but I had a SYM awhile back (same company) and could never get the correct parts. My friend had a Cabo 200i and it was a great scooter but I never asked him how he got parts.

If you just want something new and your dealer sells both I honestly don't think you could go wrong with either one. Me personally, I'd pick another Buddy 125. Simple and proven.

Buddy parts support to me feels far stronger in the US than for SYM or Kymco, the other Taiwanese manufacturers. Not sure how true this is for the non-Buddy lines of scoots that Genuine imports, but it is definitely the case for Buddy. The designs haven’t changed in 15 years, many parts are interchangeable between the 50, 125, 150, and 170i, and they’ve sold a lot of them…a simple recipe for a lot of parts floating around.

This might be obvious if you’re looking for the equivalent of the “Modern Lance” message board, which I don’t think exists!

Buddy 125 is like a Stratocaster. They nailed it out of the gate, so why change? Parts off a 2007 (2006 with exception of headlight) will bolt right on a 2021. Let's see where the Lance 125 is in 14 years. Stick with the classic!
