Modern Buddy

Hey everyone,

I recently inherited a 2009 buddy 50. It’s in pretty rough shape. Panels were pretty beat up, never seen any fluids changes, stored for a couple years without running,etc. So far, I have drained/replaced the gear oil, motor oil, gasoline, cracked oil line, battery, cleaned carb (main and pilot jets, etc). All that side, it runs only briefly than bogs out after 5-10seconds. Need help getting this running!

Any ideas?

When in doubt, clean the carb again. Does it bog at idle, and dies? Or does it bog while giving gas and revving?

When I first bought my used buddy and cleaned the carb ever since then it would only go about 20-30mph (125 engine)

Make sure you properly place the black rubber piece on the carb as if it's off just by a hair, air gets in and won't run properly

Buddy 50 doesn't have that upper diaphragm, it's much more basic in design. Good tip though for 125 owners!
