Modern Buddy

On the right side of the bike, near the petcock, there are 2 parts:
. A small white filter that goes to the airbox
. A large black one that follows a similar path

1) Can someone ID them?
2) And how long is their useful life?

Where do they come from? I can't think of anything connecting to the airbox. What year is your Buddy?

Part of the evap system, I'd wager. Where do they go in the other direction?

I think that's the charcoal canister that is part of the Evap system. You will see gas drip out of that hole to the left if you overfill the gas tank and don't have a vented gas cap.

The white piece looks more like a check valve.

As for life, I'd say "lifetime".
