Buddy 170i first oil change

I used a Sentec filter the same as what came on it. $9 isn't cheap but Genuine has a reputation of using quality components. The fact I already had a 13/16 socket sealed the deal. Had a little problem removing the old one until I loosened the 12mm bolts that hold the oil cooler guard so close to the filter it interfered with removal and installation. Of course the owners manual is no help as they expect you to have a dealer do all maintenance. Can any one educate me on why the main oil drain cap has the spring and tiny mesh filter like GY6 motors without an automotive type spin on filter? Surely it's unecessary. It's also a pain to reinstall and remove the drain cap thanks to the spring pressure. The spin on filter filters way better than a thimble size piece of window screening. Keeping my 2012 silver one with the black racing stripe. Dr Pulley 11g sliders and a new exhaust next week. I ride it more than my CB1100 Honda. Yeah I'm not right in the head
