Hey guys,

Long time lurker here but figured you outstanding individuals can provide some help. My girlfriend's 150cc Genuine Buddy Scooter was stolen last night from 23rd and Dolores street, 94110. While I know the chances are slim, I figured I'd post some information here in hopes that it's spotted:

Plate - 20D8686
Vehicle ID #- RFVPAC0581000768
Make - Genuine Buddy, 150
Year - 2008

Some unique identifiers:
Miss matched mirrors, one black (right) one chrome (left).
Left hand mirror cracked.
Replaced headlight is kept in place with zip ties, not screws.
Scratch on the underside, right side, of the trunk.
Left hand handle bar slightly bent.

If anybody has ANY leads, information, or suggestions please feel free to message me. Thanks in advance!

Sorry to hear! You might also have some luck posting to local clubs' Facebook pages.

SF Scooter Girls: https://www.facebook.com/SanFranciscoScooterGirls

There are also two Buddy groups with a lot of activity and a group called Scooter Peeps that has a lot of Bay Area members.

Thanks for the suggestions Ericalm! I'll check out those resources. Just to clarify, what are the "Buddy groups" that you speak of? =)

I see you found at least one of them! I was having trouble grabbing the links off mobile. :)

Here's the other, smaller group:

So sorry to hear about your lady friends scoot.
I'm coming to the city tomorrow to check out the scoot' shops. Planning to bring my 170i in the bed of me little Toyota pickup and ride around. Hoping for a much less stressful day of running around and finding parking!

Thanks for the sympathy! I'm still hoping for a miracle here... that said, I plan on swinging by the police department tonight to provide some additional pictures. Have fun scooting around the city! It's a wonderful town for it (*tear*) That said, make sure to be careful, as I'm sure you gathered from my post haha.

I'd check every craigslist in California, Nevada and Arizona.

Thanks ucandoit! I have been pretty regularly. Any suggestions what I should search for aside from "buddy" and "scooter?" Any other classifieds or networks I should be perusing aside from ebay?

Well, you called it 'green' rather than 'Italia', so you might add that to your search. Doubtful that a thief would call it 'Italia', but you never know. Even in your photo, the Italia badge is missing from the front cowl.

But it may have already been rattle-canned, so it may be green no more. :(

I noticed online there is a group called Scooter Alert where you can register a stolen scooter. Not sure how much that helps.

I wonder, too, about putting up photos (& other details) of the scooter on lamp posts, etc. as people do who have lost pets, right near where it was stolen. Are most stolen scooters kept around locally? Probably.

Do what you can and then what's done is done. Either it shows up or not.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I am sorry someone stole the scooter.

~

It might be cool to add something to a scooter that looks totally stock, but is not, that a thief might not know is not stock, and could easily identify a scooter.
