Stray black wire in battery compartment in Buddy 170i???

While installing a new battery yesterday in my Buddy 170i, I noticed a thin black (negative) wire with a ring end on it in the battery compartment. It looks like it's supposed to be connected to the negative side of the battery, but I can't find a corresponding positive (red) lead. What is this wire for and should it be connected to the battery?

Does the other end of that wire go to a 2 contact bullet connector with a black rubber housing? If so, it's for the convenience of plugging in a battery tender charger for those who are unfortunate enough to have to store their scooters during the winter, or for whatever reason.

If it were a connector for a battery tender, there would be a corresponding red lead.

That is a second ground wire related to the fuel injection system. Bolt it into the negative terminal. The positive terminal is the one normal battery cable.
