Sometimes it's fun to be juvenile!

My Blur with it's hotrodded 180 engine has been running really good so I thought I'd have some fun today. Earlier in the day I got into an impromptu stop light to stop light race with a 500cc sport bike. I kept beating him to the next light and he finally shouted "what the heck is that thing!". I shouted back "it's a scooter!". Funnyist thing ever. Later in the day a bunch of guys on sportbikes and Harleys came up behind me. At the green they jumped around me and took off. I beat them to the next light so when it turned green, they really jumped on it. I was right behind the sportbikes and easily outran the Harleys to the next light. They kept looking at my scooter and jumping on it to the next light, but I was always only a few feet behind them. Must have drove them crazy. I know on a longer run they'd bury me, but from light to light, I give them a run for their money. Great fun!

Terrific! I wouldn't have been able to resist having fun with them either. Especially the H-D guys that think nothing else on two wheels even comes close.
Now you gotta go out and get a "Born To Be Wild" or Harley T-shirt for the next time! Or is that too much poking the bear?

Yes! That sounds amazing. I bet you left them scratching their heads! Aaaaaand that's why there's nothing better than a scooter for inner city driving.

That's cool and soooo tempting. Nice going. You make us scooter owners proud.

I couldn't agree with you more. I had a 750 sportbike before (I loved it), but for within the city, I much prefer my scooter. So much easier to maneuver around tight spots and getting in and out of parking spaces. I'm pretty sure the fact that I'm short has nothing to do with it...lol

That's funny about being short. I have to laugh, too, because I'm this ultra cautious older woman on a scooter and I now have an urge to "beat out" cars on the take off at lights. This, coming from someone afraid to go over 45 mph.

Great feeling, wasn't it? I was commuting home next to a Yamaha Star 1100 on my Buddy 125 in surface street traffic. The Yamaha rider told me, "That scooter is pretty fast". I guess he didn't expect me to keep up with traffic.

The perception that all scooters are 50cc is a source of amusement to many riders. R

I should know better and really shouldn't be doing things like this because I'm a bit north of 60, but you can't always remove the little boy no matter how old one gets.

I figure if I ever get pulled over, I'll just remove my helmet and give the officer that old and feeble look...

I had a gal do this to me yesterday on her buddy. Mine is once again in for some electrical troubleshooting, so I had my motorcycle, and she her 50cc pink buddy.
At a light I told her my main transport was my buddy, and I love it. I did say "I wish you'd wear more than those awesome shoes and sunglasses, people on this street really can't drive". After that everyone was smiling.

Great story. It's always fun to be juvenile as long as nobody gets hurt other than you.
