Anybody ever try using an aftermarket shock on the rear of their Buddy 125?
I am very tempted by the ones listed on ScooterDomain.com, but never heard of anyone that actually tried them. Installation easy? Heavy riders? Anyone? Beuller? Beuller?

A friend of mine runs this one and it works great.

Don't know much about the one you are looking at, but this one improved the ride a great deal.

Yep - Thats the one - awesome - allows you to control the rear end height and stiffness (or sag). We had it on our last scoot.

NCY Adjustable Shock; Genuine Scooters, GY6

Check out the Pamplona Jack & Chrome in the gallery to see it installed:

Blackjack adds included:
NCY Performance Forks
NCY Adjustable Performance Shock
NCY Big Brake Kit
Prima Exhaust Pipe

Seems like drop two bolts, swap it out and install the new one - yet something about a special tool to tension the actual spring - that did not come in the box. Note - there are two adjustments one being the knob at the bottom easier to adjust on the fly and the other the top anodized ring to compress the spring.

I put a nice YSS shock on there at 14k miles, along with the NCY forks. Much improved handling.

They're still utter piffle compared to motorcycle shocks, but it transforms the ride.

+1 Skully on my 170i.
The rear YSS was a nice step up.
