How to strap down rear of buddy when hauling.

I just purchased the Trackside Motorcycle Carrier from CycleGear (http://www.cyclegear.com/TRACKSIDE-Motorcycle-Carrier) and will be loading a buddy on to it today.
I also purchased the 8-piece Tie-Down set from Cycle Gear too (http://www.cyclegear.com/TRACKSIDE-8-Piece-Tie-Down-Set).
I'm going to be using the Soft Loop straps to secure the handle bars, but was wondering what the best method would be for securing the rear part of the buddy.
Should I loop through the passenger grab bar?
Should I just take one strap and come over the top of the seat?
Should I tell a friend just to sit on the scooter while I drive down the freeway just to be safe? jk
Thanks!
