Air filter change
What are the results of a very dirty air filter on a Buddy 125?

Starving carb for air
Your spark plug should look black and sooty, you lose performance and mpg.

Yep. You'll have less air to mix with the gas so you'll be runnin' rich.
Probably bog down at higher revs, too. But, it takes a lot of gunk to inhibit air flow to point where you notice it. Best to clean the air filter (compressed air) a time or two and then replace it as needed. Hold it up an see if light passes through.
