Buddy with a little more wheelbase?

Post by BrendaEM »

I think that if the buddy were a little longer in the wheelbase, without raising the seat height appreciably, it may increase it's popularity.

They are nice looking scooters, otherwise.

The Buddy wheelbase is on the short side for 125-170cc scoots.
Some riders love the short wheelbase, making it easier to haul, store and park. It depends on the rider's personal situation and preferences.

I bought my Buddy 170 because it is so small and light. I carry it on the back of my motorhome.

I think being the most nimble scooter in its class might be a sales advantage. That's what sold me. The Hooligan has a longer wheelbase.

It's called a Genuine Hooligan. Same engine as the Genuine Buddy 170i but longer wheelbase, bigger 12" wheels and tires, front and rear disk brakes, slightly bigger gas tank and dual rear shocks. It's basically a Buddy on steroids and the MSRP is only $100 more than the Buddy 170i!
