Draining the gas tank question

Post by bigmike7801 »

I have located the petcock on my Buddy 125 and understand that I am supposed to remove the vacuum line from it and use a syringe to create a vacuum so that the fuel will start flowing out.

My question is, which line in the picture below is the line I'm supposed to remove?

Also, I currently have my carburetor removed for cleaning. Am I still going to be able to do this? I really don't want this junk fuel to pass through the carb after I just cleaned it.

Which hose in the picture below should I expect the fuel to run out of. I did trace the lines back but was a little confused.

Thanks!

I just loosened the brass nut and pulled the petcock off the tank. Used a transmission funnel to guide the gas into a container.

Pull the vacuum line off of the intake manifold and use that to activate the petcock.

I use a cheap transfer pump to get rid of old gas. The minuscule amount of fuel leftover won't do any harm when mixed with fresh gas. A whole lot quicker, also.
