First, it wasn't getting gas. I took apart the fuel cock and removed the sand from the valve.
Second, now it leaks gas like a Yugo. From the carburetor. Runs all over the floor. It's not coming from the tank.
Took it apart, getting a new needle valve. Is that the likely culprit?
I noticed that gas sort of dribbles out of the gas hose. But it's easily more than one gallon per hour, which is about how much the scooter uses. Or am I wrong here?
I've also seen the rubber tip of the float valve swell up and deform when exposed to those "pour-in miracle fuel system cleaner" type additives. The rubber that they used for it does NOT play well with solvents for modern vehicles, especially if someone uses the whole bottle that's meant to be used with 20 something gallons in a car, vs the 1-2 gallons in a stella.
I know you’ve solved this now, but I’d like to point out that I’ve had fuel leaking after a rebuild before, only to find that I didn’t tighten the screw over the small mesh fuel filter.
