Electrical Issues/ weak lights

Post by tentonreverb »

I have a 2008 manual 150cc. I have had a problem with electrical. I am not a mechanic but hope to point someone smarter to what seems to be a regular problem with these scooters. When i turn on key, there is no power. The minute I shut down, there is no power. Once start scooter (only kick start works), I can see that headlight power is shifty, looks like its trying to die out, and brake lights, turn signals are so dim, they are not visible by day and are not really bright enough at night.

I have been told that the Stater is notoriously weak. I did upgrade to gel battery, tried LED lights, but they flicker due to power irregularity. Anybody else go through this? What were the solutions?

Check the fuse going to your battery. The bike will run without the battery, but the lights are very very dim without it...
