Friday afternoon I called Metro Motorcycles in Neenah WI to confirm they still have the Stella - they do & tell me they open at 9am - Great... see ya tomorrow.
So I leave the house at 10am with my Rattler loaded up on the trailer and a pocket full of $100 bills - the 200 mile trip goes great - no problems trailering
I arrive at Metro at 1pm........ to find out they closed at noon.
Noon?! Maybe I am used to living in the Chicago area but closing at noon!?

jmkjr72 had told me about another dealer about 30 miles away from Metro that had 1/2 dozen 2009 Stellas in stock. I looked up his PM on my Droid & called Riverside Rides - yes they had Stellas & yes they were open until 3pm

so I drive over there & explain my situation to Yvonne & initially she isnt crazy about taking a trade in on her already discounted 2009 Stellas - then she sees my Rattler through the window & says "It's Blue?!" & we go out to check it out - I explain the new blue carbon fiber wrap on it & she loves it & wants it in her store & we think we can come to terms on the price - here is the problem... she has two red Stella's & I would take either but neither one has been prepped & she cant get anyone in on Saturday afternoon to prep one...... She even called Scooterworks to see if she could work out a deal where I could buy hers, but Scooterworks would prep it for me - but they were gone for the day by then.... I decided it was not meant to be. The scooter gods are trying to tell me something.

so... I drive home. 450 miles round trip, pulling my Rattler on a trailer & no new Stella for me.

I now realize that I should have asked what time Metro closed but I still cant believe they close at Noon..... & since the guy I talked to on the phone on Friday knew I was driving up from south of Chicago, he might have mentioned that they close at noon when he told me what time they opened.

Yvonne at Riverside Rides was great & I wish I could have bought one of hers.

Anyone looking for a 2009 Black Stella with 12 miles on it that can be had for $2,400? If so, take a drive over to Neenah Wisconsin.

I will keep my eyes open for another great deal on a Stella but I am not holding my breath.

Thanks to everyone who posted in this thread with all the great info & advice - I really appreciate it - if anyone hears of a great deal on a Stella (preferably 150 miles or less from Chicago) let me know - I still have the Stella bug (& a pocket of $100 bills)

Nope.... I think she had 5 or 6 2009s but the only one that was ready to go was a green one they use as their demo unit.

I can see that.... just didnt do me any good (green is not for me)

lame. that has got to be the worst. you have been talking/lusting about this forever. money in hand, and drove all that way. maybe a minor setback and a better deal is right around the corner.

yeah I hope so
I like my Ratter but the retro/vintage thing really seems like a way to go.

With the economy still not doing great.... some of these dealers that are sitting on 1/2 dozen 09 Stellas (closer to home) might me a little more motivated at the end of the summer.

If not... I will live

I was really after red or black

I can see why people like the green ones... but they look a little too much like a WWII scooter to me

Now the cylinder in my Rattler is shot so everything is up in the air & I don't have anything to ride

I am really not happy today.

What's even worse is that he wasn't open yet when I put my deposit on the 4T at a dealer far from me. Oh well, Tilt a Rack!

Got her and she is red!!

Jmkrjr72 sent me a pm and said riverside rides had lowered their prices on there 2T stellas. (Thanks again jmkrjr72)
I called Yvonne and we agreeded on a great price (which I will keep to myself since yvonne asked me to.... sorry)
She is a new 2008 in red (yep... never titled and full warranty)
Can't say enough nice things about Riverside Rides.... I am very happy with them and my new stella.
They might want to warn people how easy it is to do a wheely!!!
I jumped on to test drive and whooooo!
Wasn't expecting that
I did have to drive a couple hundred miles each way to get her... but its well worth it.
