knee guards that will fit under pants

Post by ZQ8 Blazer »

After taking that spill the other night and having overalls and coveralls on, how fast I was going, and what it did to my knees I'm going to get a pair of knee guards to ride at night, but does anyone make any that will fit under blue-jeans? I just need some padding is all.

Out of curiosity, why under the jeans instead of over? have you considered motorcycle pants? The knee padding on mine are awesome.

Yeah, it is at night and nobody ever sees a scooter at night anyway  so just put them over your drawers.

I forgot who, but some member on modern buddy uses roller skating knee pads under their pants. Something is better than nothing.

i got these from cyclegear:

they are nice because the there's a strap for the knee part in addition to straps around your shins. very comfy.

they are made to go under pants, but being a girl, i tend to wear skinny jeans, so i just wear them over my pants. i'm sure i look silly/power-ranger, but that's not really important.

You're asking the wrong question. The question is not "What knee guards will fit under my pants?"

The question *should* be "What pants will fit over my knee pads?"

I got the same knee guards that I ride with and I wear them under my jeans. It is quite comfortable. The jeans I wear are pretty typical jeans, but I do try to wear something that is wider so it is not as tight. Also, buy jeans that are a little longer than what you normally wear because the armor will make the jeans a little tighter. During stops, you jeans will tend to ride up. My 2 cents.

Oh, one more thing about Icon's Knee Armor. The size of your calf is very important. If the circumference of your calf is more than 15" or so, it is not going to fit, you will need to get some type of velcro extension.

Just posted a pair of Icons. I wore them on a couple 3- to 4-hour trips. They def boosted my confidence while riding. And they do fit under jeans. Obviously, not the super skinny jeans. But since I graduated, my commute is really short and I just haven't worn them.

Thanks guys, I'm looking into ICON's right now. The reason I want them underneath is because I go into stores when it's dark and don't want to spend the time taking them on and off.

Why would you want knee guards in your underpants? Wouldn't a cup work better?
