Interesting Craigslist finds
I thought this might be a good topic for some people: interesting scooter finds from your local Craigslist. It might help someone looking for a new ride. What's interesting from your Craigslist? Please try to keep it scooter, or at least bike related, but hey, if it's interesting, go for it! Don't forget, all of these are subject to being sold.
Enjoy!
I'll start this off with:

Here's a rare bird. Ad doesn't say whether it's a 250 or 450 though.

Can't decide if I like this or not. If nothing else, it is interesting. The engine is a 250cc air cooled single making 19hp. Only weighs 265lb.

Edit: I just decided that I do like it. It would be fun the cruise around the city on that thing.

Not sure what to make of this. Seller calls it a "General Scooter Co. Buddy 125", but the picture clearly shows a Genuine Scooter Buddy. It's a 2009 and only $300. Dunno about this one though, 73,674 miles?! Any takers?

With 76k on the clock you'd think he'd know who 'made' his scoot. Or, he posted with an I-device and never checked for the spell-check errors.babblefish wrote:Not sure what to make of this. Is this art or a scooter or both? I'll take the Austin Healey behind it, thank you.

OK, this is an interesting one. A Vespa made by PGO, Taiwan. According to the seller, this was made in 1984 and has a manual transmission. Looks really clean and 150cc 2-stoke? Yes, please.
And that convertible VW bug next to it looks pretty tasty, too!
https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/mcy/d/ ... 11412.html
"Fully registered and clean CA title.
This is a two stroke, 150cc Piaggio (Vespa), manufactured in Taiwan.
Vespa history buffs can start your research here:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/PGO_Scooters
Has less than 1,200 original miles.
Body is clean and straight, rust free.
I got hold of this about 8 years from a guy in Nevada. At the time, the history of the scooter was unknown as he got it from a storage locker auction.
Removed and replaced the top end, inspected inside the engine case, everything looks tip top.
Starts and runs great! Still needs another couple hundred miles on it to break in the new top end.
No battery. All electrical works perfect including blinkers (even hazard lights), horn and headlight.
No offers. Straight asking price. Cash only."

Moped, kinda sorta, I guess...
https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/mcy/d/ ... 08512.html
"I was walking around Capitola one sunny weekend doing the whole shopping/people watching thing with my wife when I saw a guy leisurely pedal by on the most awesome, baddest looking mountain bike/moped looking thingy and it was making this amazing thump thump sound...I was like "That's freaking awesome I must have one!". Long story short, I bought one complete kit (minus motor, uses any Honda 50cc+ pit bike motor) and one frame kit with upgraded front and rear suspension. The basic kit was going to be for my wife and the other one was going to be mine with the best components money can buy. Fast forward...they've been in my garage in the packages they were shipped in and I've never even opened them to start the assembly. You build them up like assembling a mountain bike. I honestly don't have time to assemble them and probably won't anytime soon, so sadly I should probably trade these for something that I can actually use and enjoy. So, I would be interested in trading these for a street bike. My interests are ALL over the map, so let me know what you've got, ya never know. I've owned sport bikes, adventure touring bikes, classic bikes, and cruisers. Things that are currently wafting through my mind...street tracker, commuter, cruiser, retro stuff. Probably not much for a sport bike, my track days are over and my back is getting old. Anyways, google Motoped and you'll see a bunch of info plus they have a Facebook page. Let me know!"

Time for more Craigslist finds from the Bay Area!
First up, always wanted a Honda Grom but didn't want to pay the price? Check out this clone for only $1200! Looks pretty decent.

I would shell out some coin for a 180!
Crap...I would even think about trading my 68 SS180 (upper rare not unobtanium but concourse restoration down to bolt tabs) for one

One of these days I'll have to get around to putting it back together. A lot of fun to ride but a little down on power.

I wanted one of these T-bone Honda 90s so bad when I was a teenaged kid, but all I could afford was a Honda 50 Cub.babblefish wrote:This one is just plain cool:
