Torque Spec for Valve Adjust?
I'll be checking my valve clearance next free weekend & if I need to make adjustments is there a torque spec for those nuts? Found 2 good "how to" videos but I'm wondering how tight for those nuts.

Re: Torque Spec for Valve Adjust?
The Buddy manual doesn't have a torque value. Even if it did it would be tough to get a torque wrench on the nut while holding the adjustment screw.New2Scoots wrote:I'll be checking my valve clearance next free weekend & if I need to make adjustments is there a torque spec for those nuts? I use a short handle box or combination wrench for this. I tighten it down snug but do not crank on it. With a short handled wrench I think you would really have to crank on that wrench to over torque it. Don't forget to recheck the clearance after tightening as the adjustment screw may turn a hair as you are tightening the nut.
Most important this is to do this on a cold engine.
