Is this a shortened Prima exhaust?
I just bought a Blackjack with 350 miles. I took it to have an oil change and the guy asked me what kind of exhaust it was. I assumed Prima. Then he asked if it was shortened. I never noticed before but it does look shorter.
Anyone know?

It looks like they chopped 4 or 5 inches off a Prima. I doubt they went through that much trouble to strip, cut, weld, and re-chrome though. So wherever it came from, it must come that way from the factory where it was made.
I personally prefer the shorter sportier appearance over the too long Prima. You lucked out IMHO. I wish I knew where to get one for myself.

Yeah that's a good idea. I'll do one on the morning and post a link.Tocsik wrote:I think you need to load up a video so we can hear the sound.
With a shorter baffle length, I'm thinkin' that might sound really good.
I'm looking at that ncy exhaust because I prefer as little police interaction as possible hahaa and tbis might be just a little too loud when the throttle is on.

I'm looking for something black so maybe I'll sell this?k1dude wrote:It looks like they chopped 4 or 5 inches off a Prima. I doubt they went through that much trouble to strip, cut, weld, and re-chrome though. So wherever it came from, it must come that way from the factory where it was made.

It was an exaggeration. I just installed an NCY 3 months ago, so I wouldn't want to spend more money to replace a perfectly good and new performance muffler. Like you, I also prefer the black look and a little more quiet exhaust. Thanks for the offer though.Xsolusx wrote:I'm looking for something black so maybe I'll sell this?k1dude wrote:It looks like they chopped 4 or 5 inches off a Prima. Are you happy with that exhaust? The sound?k1dude wrote:It was an exaggeration. My exhaust idle is not bad at all. Small rev sounds great. Going a steady hum gets just a little too loud for me.
Plus I like black haha.

Has anyone tried a regulatory oval motorcycle exhaust mount? Is there any reason why that would not work?
My ncy exhaust won't be here until Friday. Boohoo. So I'm thinking about cutting off the piece of the mount left on my exhaust and just using an oval adjustable mount. Seems too easy so I assume it doesn't work? Lol

I just started it and tone is OK. Sounds like an xr75. It is MUCH more quiet than that other one. It is a really big difference. That other one does not look like it has any baffling in there at all though. The weight difference is ginormous.k1dude wrote:I'll be curious to hear what you think of the sound difference - both loudness and quality of tone.
I'm going to go ride it in a few and see if I can tell any difference.
Oh and it did come with a gasket, the shaped kind. I also bought those long nuts and that made it way easier that the previous small ones.
