2014 Matt Black Buddy
After doing a few panel swaps on a few scoots, followed by two complete body swaps we bought a 2014 Matt Black 170i because well it is black and what is there to change?
Right off we were not in love with the stock seat finish, so we had to reach out to Suzy @ Cheeky Seats and she fixed us up with the croc seat cover which compliments the scoot very well.
We also swapped the exhaust with our Prima pipe which of course was stainless and that did take away from the overall look. We knew we were going to keep the Prima, yet needed to blend it in by painting it black. We decided to try it leaving the tip silver.
Below is a first look at the Prima pipe with a flat black high heat paint and the croc seat cover.

Soooooo smooth
The drool factor for me was the blacked out prima exhaust...that scoot looks so damn sharp. Overall, it looks functional, like the black isn't just for the hell of it, but serves a mechanical purpose. I'm not wording it right, but I hope you get the gist of it.

Real crocodile leather'd be $$$. I have to ask, does the 170i need a remap to run a Prima?GregsBuddy wrote:Did a crock' really die for the seat? The longer I live the less I like death for any reason...

We only changed the exhaust and have two 2014 Buddy 170's that have the Prima installed, one at 600' and one at 5,000' elevation and both run great with no remap.tiii wrote: I have to ask, does the 170i need a remap to run a Prima?

okay that's good news... you might be the one to ask this of...
I'm touching up some scrapes on the old blackjack and noticing that matt black seems to not match up as well as satin. Have you noticed anything like this in regards to your matt black 170i?
cheers

Well we know there are about 100 different 'black' colors out there and no we have never tried to touch up the black on the Matt Black. That might be a challenge to find the right one or better yet take it to an auto body place and have them mix you some, or even try taking a panel to you local paint store and have them mix to match then get a pressurized spray bottle to spray it on if you like.tiii wrote:I'm touching up some scrapes on the old blackjack and noticing that matt black seems to not match up as well as satin. Black Prima Pipe
The Prima pipe was painted with a flat black high heat paint - just rattle can, two coats with very fine sanding before and between coats.
