Sorry to hear about this. Honestly...you look pretty good for hitting the road at that speed.

Were you running stock or modified?

i started the autopsy and im psotive it was crank failure now
i pulled the head and was able to move the bore up some till it hit the body
there are some dings in the top of the piston and in the squish band

so im thinking it will be about 600 bucks in parts to get her back running
then throw in a fender new kick start trim and rework the cowel again

Wow man, keep on healing up. Cranks bearings, do you think or a actual crank failure. Either way, melt that friggin' evil crank down into droplets to teach it a lesson.

Glad that you are OK and that your FF did it's job.

the one genuine sells to the dealers isnt very good i went by to have it pulled off and it just pulled the threads off the puller

If there are enough spare bad parts you could construct a little shrine for the side of the road where it occurred.

well i know its been a while sense i updated this thread but i did the first heat cycle today on the rebuild

and she screams i hit 40 in second and had throttle left
i need to run a few heat cycles and do a proper plug chop before i can reall give her

but as she sits

i scrubed and painted the case and hub satin black

installed a mazz full circle crank

dr177 bbk (enlarged transfer ports raised the exhasut port about 1mm and widend exhasut port polished the exhaust head and piston)

mathced the case to the new huge transfer ports

ggr hot reeds with cross bar cut out of reed block

24/24 carb vsx air filter and carb box matched to the carb

somonine pipe

How wast the ride yesterday?
Any pics?
Yvonne invited me to stick around... but I figured a group ride was not the best place to learn to shift

but no one wanted to race and i couldnt hear if any one else was actauly running
i didnt take any pics forgot the good camera the guy on the bergman did have his camera with so hopefully there will be some pics posted some where
there wasnt much shifting on the ride we stuck in town just a few stop lights

I am sure it would have been fun... I should have stuck around.
I got the hang of the shifting thing pretty fast... maybe a few miles
I just thought it would take longer to get smooth - the idea of left handed grip shifting seems like such a weird idea... but, as you know, its no big deal
