pdxrita wrote:Yay! I didn't kill scooter tag after all. :D Nice job! I like how the wall color coordinates with your scooter, and that segues nicely into your tag. So on that tag, does the color match have to be exact, or would any old green scooter match the Italia (not that I can recall seeing any other green scoots, besides the Italia, but just in case).
Thanks! I've been meaning to take a photo in front of that building before, during one of the scavenger hunts where one was meant to do such a thing. I bricked. BUT! Finally, I was able to use it before the landlord destroys this old paint job. That company moved to the Philly Burbs YEARS ago.

Um, well, I don't want to make the tag TOO challenging, but I don't want it to be too easy, either. So, use your judgment. I TRUST YOU, INTERNETS.

This is my tire pile. I think the tire repo man has been through town, this is all I can find. Does it count?

You would think this wouldn't be so hard, especially in NY, but I've had no luck. (Figured I could at least give this a bump!)

This should be easy but you have a limited amount of time. Your scooter with the Nativity.

Well, I can't match the quality of BoneGirl's Nativity, but I can get one nativity.

For the next tag, here's something really challenging. A bowl game! (I tried to get across the street, to better show the Insight.com Bowl logo, but they wouldn't let me in without paying the $20 parking fee.) :(

I know that the Bowl Game tag is a little unfair, so instead, I'll allow either the Bowl Game for those big city riders, or for the most of the world:

Let's start the year with some kultur. The last tag of 2009 is your scooter in front of the word museum.

Sweet! I finally got my riding skills up to a level where I felt like I could go in search of a museum (I'm a new rider), but then....it snowed. Glad you got it, Bonegirl. I'll try for the nature center when the snow is off the streets...I don't feel up to negotiating that just yet! :)

I was just going to say *bump*, but then I searched Google and discovered that in a state that is about 80% public lands, I can't find a single 'Nature Preserve (or Center)'. Go figure.

I'm keeping my eyes open, though!

Here is the entrance to our nearby Nature Park. The building is half a mile from here, so it won't fit in the lens of my camera. I go for walks here about every day.

Nickie, I have one complaint. The picture at the entrance to the Anderson Environmental Education Center doesn't contain the words Nature Center or Nature Preserve in it.

But that's not my complaint (unless BoneGirl raises one - we're a pretty laid back group after all, and your pic fits the spirit of BoneGirl's tag, I think). No, my complaint is that in less that two months, indeed, in just 52 days, we have come from learning, knowledge, dare I say, good taste, to a, a - I can barely stand saying it, a biker bar. If you could see through the tubes as I type this, you would see me, head in hands, quietly sobbing.

Just kidding. Do you want a real biker bar, or one of the weekend warrior, scenic locale, high priced drink kind of places favored by my boss and his accountant?

Question: whatever happened to the original random pic with your scooter in it and pic 3 things in the pic for the tag? Going back to that might help with having to try to come up with something that's not on the now-rather-long list. Anyone mind?

I'm fine with that.

I want to play, but haven't been able to either ride, or find the target. (no biker bars around here that I want to go near...) The pic with three things should be fun and interesting! :)

Games

Post by BoneGirl »

We have several games going on simultaneously down here in Cincinnati. One of them is Alphabet Tag. We started with "A" and you had to take a picture of your scooter at an establishment that started with "A" like "Al's Laundromat" or "Applebees". The honor system applies and you aren't allowed to pre-load pictures. Once someone posts the picture with a letter, THEN you had to go get the next one. And the same person couldn't get two tags in a row. Whoever got the last tag of something with "Z", they get to choose the next category. So we started street names starting with the letter "A". EX "Adams Road". It's fun because lots of people will be going after that letter simultaneously but only one will get it on the site first. So now it's time to scramble to be the first for the next letter and on it goes. Several alphabet item suggestions could be your scooter with schools or vehicles or just restaurants, etc, etc, etc. Last letter Tag starts a new Alphabet Tag fresh and names the category.

You're having problems finding *one* item, but think *three* will be easier? :hehe:

Plus, the scooter +3 tag petered out after only a couple months, so I'm hesitant to try it again. And no one said you couldn't repeat (I have, if memory serves), it's just nice if we don't redo the same tags over and over again.

Of course, I've been wrong before (today).

So repeating isn't forbidden, just preferred against? *whew*
I'm running out of new ideas. Alright...I'll be on the lookout for something ASAP.

*edit* Or Bonegirl's suggestion sounds good. :) If I can't find anything for a unique 1-item theme, I'll do that, if no one objects...?

Bonegirl's alphabet tag does sound like fun.

But think, if you post a tag of your scooter in front of a street sign that begins with the letter 'A' (thinking that maybe you'll be turning this into an alphabet tag), I can just as easily take a pic in front of an Alameda street sign, then post a new tag, in front of, say, a candlepin bowling alley.

The possibilities are endless!

Running List

Which reminds me. Here's the list (I added to BoneGirl's original list to include everything after her last update - did I ever tell you what a good idea that was BoneGirl?).

Cheshire, see the number of tags that have been duplicated? Not many, for sure, but it has been done.

[EDIT] I removed the tag counts. I got to thinking it started to look like a competition, and Tag isn't a competition. (Plus, the table just got way to long)[/EDIT]
