special editions

Post by verdecalavera »

I was looking back at a 2006 brochure and was reminded of some of the old colors and some of the special edition stellas such as the GB and Atomic Fire Ball. When shall we see some more funky painted stellas in the future?

I have a suggestion.

Do a Stella/sidecar combo... The Stella is painted like Batman's outfit and
the sidecar is painted like Robin's. Undeniably cool.

i shoulda asked what special painting editions would you like to see?

Red Baron edition, maybe a pin-up one, or one with more flames like the fireball edition.

I'd like to see the Stealth Edition. Black, with black mirrors, black legshield trim, no reflectors and smoke lenses.

I think if you got a powder blue Stella, blacked out all the chrome, and put the black stripes on it, it would be awesome to the max!!

Ok, I'll keep working on it. I have the black center stand for Stellas/Ps, and it looks like I can get the black legshield trim. Blacking out the chrome around the lights looks like a pain in the butt, however.

blacking out the light trim the fender trim the and the badges wast that bad just hit them quick with some fine sand paper and i used some krylon for plastic
(it takes about 5 minutes to mask the lights good)
i used silicon to reattach the stella badges
i did the same with the kickstart

Way back, I heard talk of a Black Label Skateboards/Patrick Melcher Stella, but I don't know how close it was to happening. That woulda been cool.

All matte black would be great! And I still wanna see the Bangalore Street Market model.

I wonder if any one has put any Army or other military insignia on an olive Stella? like on the cowls? that would look cool.
Actually the inglorious basters Scotoer might qualify for that - though for the life of me I cannot seem to find a photo of it to post here

Now that this has been resurrected…

I think we will see some special editions of the Stella 4Ts. No guesses as to what, exactly, yet. But I know Genuine loves doing this sort of thing.

also, that is cool! maybe something with the new Tom Hanks movie? like there is a quirky character with a neat paint job or sticker or something?

personally I'd like an "official zombie hunter type scooter" Edition, but I may just have to make it myself...

That would be the most awesome thing I can imagine... my nipples are hard just thinking about it...

Are we talking Romero Zombies, Resident Evil Zombies, Zombieland Zombies, Shaun of the Dead Zombies, L4D (1&2) Zombies? Ok, I'll admit it... I really like zombies...

About the only shiny bits left on the DustBooger are the hubs (soon to be powdercoated), the kickstart (ditto), the floorboard trim (don't know what I'm gonna do there), and the speedo bezel. (Crappy pic, but I felt goofy taking photos out in the parking lot).

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/loodie/4844024481/" title="DustBooger by loodieisthebestest, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4090/484 ... d6c9af.jpg" width="375" height="500" alt="DustBooger" /></a>
Clearly.

Officially I will anwser : "any kind that require a zombie hunting scooter"

unofficially but on the record:

* Romero Zombies?
- early Romero zombies. I don't like my rotten brains "thinking"...
* Resident Evil Zombies?
- no- injecting zombie virus into a live person does not give you super powers- it will probably kill you and turn you into a zombie. if you want to see for sure I can have my corporation inject you and watch
*Zombieland Zombies?
- awesome movie- but they run too fast
* Shaun of the Dead Zombies?
- yes!
* L4D (1&2) Zombies?
- great game- but no there are no crazy tounge or exploding fat zombies with special powers. (plus they don't walk on walls :) )

* and 28 days later - while an awesome movie is NOT a zombie move, its an "infection" movie and so it can take a flying leap.

hows that for answers ? and you thought You loved zombies!

interesting side note- in Romero's "Land of the Dead"- the zombie proof RV thingy they have is called "Dead Reckoning" (which I thought would have been a much better movie title since I didn't think it lived up the the "land of the..." series) anyway, "Dead reckoning" would be a sweet name for a zombie killing scooter - though probably under copywrite for corporate "official" use.

FYI:

viewtopic.php?t=11410&highlight=zombie
viewtopic.php?t=12416&highlight=zombie
viewtopic.php?t=14823&highlight=zombie

- in fact - just search "Zombie" here and make sure you have a few hours free. you'll find you are in VERY good company my friend!
