Doesn't look like it's still happening in NY, but you can read descriptions (& see photos of course) of previous rides: http://www.iscootny.com/nude/

There used to be a lot of nudity at scooter rallies, back when we all knew
And trusted each other (and before digital cameras.) when the photos started showing up on girls-gone-wild sites, it stopped quick.

It's no fun any more, is it then??illnoise wrote:There used to be a lot of nudity at scooter rallies, back when we all knew

I always tried to talk my ex-wife to ride 'topless' in the Jeep with me, she never did! Maybe hence the 'Ex-' part now?
I'm all up for a scooter ride as such, always looking for something new to try!

Cameras are great for somethings, but I really hate that they're everywhere.... and everyone has a Myfacetwit page. There's no anonymity anymore, you have to guard your actions too much. If I see a camera at a scooter function, I'll turn around or find another conversation to attend to. It's not that I'm camera shy, I just like my privacy, but no one with a myfacetwit page follows suit with that same respect.illnoise wrote:There used to be a lot of nudity at scooter rallies, back when we all knew

10 years ago, sure, I'd swing in the breeze. Today, nope, don't want my family seeing that kind of nonsense, among other people. nothing like seeing something like that in large format at work, eh?

I'm really not a prude, in fact in my college days...
But, I want all those VIN numbers in case one of them comes across on craigslist. At least have the decency to put a towel down.
And, not to spoil anyone's fun, but that kind of thing can get you on the registered sex offender list.
Again, I'm not a prude, I'm just sayin'...

I find this very interesting. Back in the mid-1970, 1974 to be exact, I gave my brother a ride on my motorcycle through our down town, Main Street, and he started to figit alot next I know he was pulling his pants down, stood up on the pegs and mooned everyone down town. Best part is our town was only 900 people big and everyone knows everyone.
I also find this interesting because a couple of years ago a guy was showing us his new Buddy. He was wearing shorts, t-shirt, and sandles. Instead of a bunch of "Cool Scoot" "Congratulations", the guy was riddled with negative feedback because the lack of protective clothing. My have we changed in the last 2 years. I guess if he was nude, he would have be given positive responses.

My thinking is - to each his own. (despite my previous post). Society has become a lot less polite. It must be all these Internets where we express our opinon about any and everything. One rider will laugh at you for gearing up while riding a 150cc scooter while another will chastise you for not being ATGATT.Dibber wrote:I find this very interesting. I've found you make a lot more friends and dispell a lot of preconceptions by being curious about another person's ride or whatever rather than finding faults with it or them. Heck, they might even ask you about yours! If you believe one way or another they might follow your example after they warm up to you. Otherwise you are just blowing hot air at them.
